Movementality Free TV!

Learn the how-to’s for when you can’t make online classes

Can’t make the online sessions work for you, but know you still need to keep moving? Movementality Free TV is our free, on demand offering - featuring some fabulous video resources to help you keep your body mobile and strong. Please keep in mind these are general exercises, and if you have any specific injuries you need to work on, that it’s best to contact us directly so we can advise you on what is suitable to do.

It’s recommended that you have some props/equipment on hand such as a foam roller, spiky balls, and/or an over-ball. You can purchase these from our retail page if you’re in Australia (except the foam roller, they’re a bit tricky to post so try to get one locally). Alternatively, hunt out what you already have at home - a rolled up towel can sometimes work as a foam roller, a tennis ball like a spiky ball and a plush cushion can provide similar feedback to an over-ball… so get creative and get cracking!

How your nervous system reacts to a global pandemic

In 2020, Movementality was contacted by one of the largest tech companies in the world to create a workshop that would help their workers navigate their own health and wellbeing during the pandemic, with carryover impacts to their normal working life. This workshop was a huge success, so we’ve created a version of it to share with the rest of the world! Please watch the video below to get some insight as to how the body reacts, and some great movements at the end to help loosen up the body.

Basic exercise videos

Thoracic Mobility

Use your foam roller to learn how to extend well through your upper back. NB: If you have osteoporosis or osteopenia please use a soft ball in place of the foam roller as it can be too hard on the ribs.

Cat Stretches

Practice your cat stretches and play with using the foam roller to keep your shoulder and mid back moving freely.

Chest Expansion

Feeling stiff and tight around your chest and shoulders? Grab a long foam roller, or prop yourself up on a shorter foam roller or rolled up towel, and follow these exercises.

Don’t Forget Your Feet

Feet are a key area of our body that often don’t get the attention they deserve. Use this video as a guide on how to build up the sensitivity awareness of your feet, in preparation for building up strength.

Cat Stretches II

Revisiting our cat stretches from earlier, we learn to modify our hip positions, and also play with the over-ball in order to get different stretches around our hips, shoulders and everything in between!

Psoas and Abdominal Conditioning

Grab your over-ball, foam roller or even a large cushion and follow along with these exercises for hip stretching and deep abdominal control.

Neck Strengthening

Instead of focusing on stretching the neck, this video will present options for building strength while maintaining mobility in your neck.

Rotating the spine

Rotation is a key movement for our bodies that is often over looked. Follow these exercises to help keep your spine twisting and healthy.
